Everyone is effected by mental health. Here in Sudbury, our rates of suicide our significantly higher than the average in Canada. With that being said, we barely have any programs offered for those who are suffering with depression, suicidal thoughts or low mental wellness. Unfortunately, there is still stigma surrounding the outlets we do have offered in our community. That is why we've started the Unbreakable Spring Open. We have been affected first hand by suicide and depression, and we understand what it's like to feel alone. Our goal is to ensure youth don't feel that way! Our goal is to bring the Sudbury community together to raise awareness about mental health and work towards ending the stigma. Together we can accomplish anything. With the success of our event, we will bring programs into the schools that will be offered to youth suffering in the dark. Join us and make our community stronger and more open to expressing how we feel.
Cameron Helps
Proceeds from this event will go to toward bringing a Cameron Helps initiative to the Sudbury community. Cameron Helps is a charitable organization that works towards reducing the stigma surrounding suicide and youth mental illness, build awareness of the issues within our community, and to promote the positive aspects of physical health on mental health. This is done through creating accessible community based programs where youth have something to work towards and feel special about. We don't have many mental health programs for our youth here in Sudbury thus such a program would be very beneficial.
